Chase Freedom Rewards Categories July 2014

Just reminding everyone that we're now in a new quarter for the Chase Freedom credit card 5% cash back rewards, and from July to September 2014, the categories are Gas Stations and Kohls. If you haven't activated it yet, something you have to do every quarter, be sure to do it right away and Chase will backdate it to the beginning of the quarter for all eligible purchases.

I just bought some new shoes form Nike.com and got to take advantage of a FREE 2-Day shipping coupon code! For order $75+, use the code LEGENDARY to get FREE 2-Day Shipping, which is $15 without the coupon.

The KEY to use this code is to select 2-Day shipping first, and then enter the code. I tried a couple times entering the code with standard shipping selected, and the price for 2-Day shipping didn't change.

Groupon coupon code June 2014 15% off

If you have your eyes on a Group Local deal for this weekend, then make sure you take advantage of the coupon code FUN15 to get 15% off one Local Events & Activities deal on Groupon. It is valid from 6/20/14 to 6/22/14! It can only be used once per customer, but it is valid for both new and current customers. The fine print also says it will discount a deal up to $50.

Netflix Standard Definition quality after price hike

If you weren't aware, Netflix raised its streaming service from $7.99 to $8.99 on 5/9/2014 for new subscribers. I have had Netflix before, but stopped a while ago because I felt the shows/movies I was getting from my Amazon Prime subscription was sufficient. I restarted my Netflix subscription again last night because the show House just became available, and even though I was a previous subscriber, I was still considered a new subscriber and subjected to the price increase.

To my surprise, there was an option to pay $7.99 a month - that instead of HD (High Definition) streaming on 2 devices at a time at $8.99, SD (Standard Definition) streaming on 1 device was only $7.99. Now, I know the difference is only a dollar and most people would just pay the extra dollar for HD, I was curious. I wanted to know how good/bad Standard Definition streaming was going to be, and I figured if it was bad, then I can always change/upgrade my plan to $8.99.

To my surprise, the quality of Netflix's $7.99 Standard Definition 1 device plan is pretty good. When watching it on my retina display iPad, I couldn't tell the difference between SD and HD (before I cancelled). I tested it on a laptop, and I could tell that it isn't HD but it isn't a big deal to me. Now, if you're the type to really care about this kind of stuff, then by all means pay the extra dollar for HD. But if you're mostly going to watch Netflix from an iPad, or just don't really mind it, then save yourself a dollar a month and choose the Standard Definition plan.

If you like going to Denny's, then you're in luck. There is currently a Denny's coupon to get 20% OFF your entire check! I can't say I've ever been there for a meal, but I like going there for breakfast once in a while. The coupon expires on 5/15/2014, so take advantage of it before the deadline!

Costco coupon limit

If you shop at Costco, you've seen the limits that they put on some coupons for certain items. I have always wondered if the coupon limit is per visit/transaction, or per card/membership, but have never had to test it out. Costco recently had my favorite cereal on sale, and I wanted to get more than the 2 boxes allowed, so I decided to try buying it again the following week. I figured if the limit was per card/membership, then I would simply get declined at the cashier (or notice that I didn't get the coupon discount, and could just immediately return them).

Well folks, after experimenting with it twice, I have come to the conclusion that the Costco coupon limit is a per visit/transaction limit. If Costco has something on sale that you want more than the allowed limit, just go back again and purchase more.
